Don Jazzy is the only personality who has managed to maintain his image as the number one music manager.
He has blown more artistes than anyone in the Nigerian music sphere. We hardly have a top artiste or legend who hasn’t in one way or the other worked with him.
After successfully managing some of the biggest legends and also young future leaders in the music scheme, there’s no fuss in saying Don Jazzy has the future of African music dominance in his palm.
Ranging from D’Banj, Wande Coal, Dr S’id, Tiwa Savage and so much more, Don Jazzy has proved to have made more stars than we ever thought.
However, as the popular saying from successful people across all various businesses in the world, “you don’t always succeed in all your endeavors”
Another one goes thus;- “every successful businesses have had at least millions of failures before getting a desired result”
There are some artistes who Don Jazzy have invested so much in but still failed to blow despite the level of time, money and efforts invested in them.
Top 5 Artistes Don Jazzy Failed To Blow
5. DNA Twins
2 heads they say is better than 1 but in the case of DNA Twins, Nothing matched the test.
They came in the heat of trying to get the the defunct duo, PSquare together.
We all thought we already have a replacement for them then when they came with a regular single which of course Don Jazzy repackaged and make appealing to us. But who wouldn’t accept who Don Jazzy introduces?
In a bid to keep up the standard, they released a single with Mayorkun “Adanma” in 2018 which was widely accepted and since then, they’ve only managed to drop songs which are mostly hyped by themselves alone.
4. IP
Do you even know who this Dude is?
Thats a big question I still ask myself cause we don’t know if he is really an artiste or a producer just like Altims and co.
At least we all know DJ Big N is a DJ and he is doing extremely well for himself and he is definitely doing tricks and wonders although not to expectations but he is always seen around the label acts and boss.
Currently, reports have it that IP is no more signed under the Don Jazzy owned label, Mavins but we wish him all the best tho!
3. Di’Ja
What is it about female artistes who come up in the music scene and steal our attentions with just a single song but fail to keep up standard afterwards?
One of the scariest nightmares of the Mavin records is that of Di’Ja who came with a regular track to claim the attention of music lovers.
She enjoyed massive airplay for her single when she was introduced to the music scene but failed to release songs to get the miraculous traits of don jazzy to blow it.
However, Don Jazzy tried working wonders for her by letting her jump on various Mavin singles but instead of shining alongside other label mates, she faded through them.
2. Iyanya
In Iyanya’s case with Don Jazzy, “Abiku turned a medicine man to a lair”.
Sometime, it’s better to remain an average artiste after falling from grace.
Its not always about where you are (Record label). If you’re never destined to grow beyond your current level, you never will.
In a bid to revive his nose diving career, Iyanya moved from MMMG where he got his footings to Don Jazzy owned label and he suffered twice the decline in attention he experienced in the former label
1. D’Prince
Sometimes, I wonder why D’Prince never made it as an artiste then I realized Don Jazzy would have been a failure if he didn’t have a zeal for what he is doing currently.
D’Prince enjoyed more attention than any of the artistes Don Jazzy has ever managed. he has seen every era of Don Jazzy and his growth.
He has been around since the days of D’banj, Wade coal and Co but failed to tap from their legendary fame. Even K’-Switch rose beyond expectation at that time.
He worked with the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Ice Prince and Co while they were growing but was never influenced by their talent. He failed beyond recognition and often never gets remembered as a Mavin artiste.
