Vogue UK premieres their new list of Emerging Artists set to rule 2022 and it enlists Nigerian stars, Ayra Starr and Ruger. The new list was shared on Monday, the 17th of January 2022.
Ayra Starr is signed songstress under the Mavin Music Records platform while Ruger is signed under its sister-label, Jonzing World formerly owned by one of Mavin’s best, D’Prince. Adding Ruger to their new list, Vogue UK wrote on their website;
“In just one year, Ruger has had a seismic impact with his single “Bounce”, which amassed 22 million views and topped the Nigeria charts on Apple Music. With unforgettable songs and his unique look – pink cropped hair and an eye patch – he’ll soon be impossible to miss as we expect the best from him and for himself this year.”
In addition to Ruger, Ayra Starr was also listed on Vogue UK’s rising artists list for 2022. The website reads;
The nineteen-year-old Ayra Starr started exceptionally strong last year, releasing debut projects that were flawlessly conceived and beautifully sung.
Ayra Starr released a self-titled EP “Ayra Starr EP” on her Mavin unveiling last year and went ahead to drop a debut album titled “19 and Dangerous Album” in the same year.
