Oscar Slap: The Academy reacts as Will Smith resigns

Famous actor Will Smith, has officially resigned from The Academy.

This comes a few days after the singer dealt popular comedian, Chris Rock, a slap, for cracking a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett.

In a viral clip, Will Smith walked up to Chris, slapped him and yelled, “keep my wife’s name out of your mouth.”

The actor made his announcement on the first day of April, many may assume it is “April Fools” right?

Mr Smith said he was heartbroken and was willing to accept the consequences of his actions.
