Grammy Award-Winning American Rap Icon, Kendrick Lamar has announced a new album after a 5-year hiatus.
The rapper tweeted a new link to his Oklama website. And, on the site, the rapper revealed his new album’s title and release date: Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is out May 13.
Recall Kendrick Lamar said this was his “final TDE album,” as he described it—on the nu thoughts folder on the oklama website launched in August 2021.
“AS I PRODUCE MY FINAL TDE ALBUM, I FEEL JOY TO HAVE BEEN A PART OF SUCH A CULTURAL IMPRINT AFTER 17 YEARS. THE STRUGGLES. THE SUCCESS. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE BROTHERHOOD. MAY THE MOST HIGH CONTINUE TO USE TOP DAWG AS A VESSEL FOR CANDID CREATORS. AS I CONTINUE TO PURSUE MY LIFE’S CALLING.
THERE’S BEAUTY IN COMPLETION. AND ALWAYS FAITH IN THE UNKNOWN.
THANK YOU FOR KEEPING ME IN YOUR THOUGHTS. I’VE PRAYED FOR YOU ALL.”
He signed the note, “Oklama.”
Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers will serve as the follow-up for Kendrick Lamar’s 2017 album Damn. An album that won a Pulitzer Prize.
