The household of Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo has been thrown into mourning as the eldest daughter of the late western region premier, Rev Tola Oyediran, passed away.

According to multiple media sources, the deceased gave up the ghost on Friday afternoon, October 16, at the age of 79.

Reverend Oyediran, who was billed to mark her 80th birthday on December 1, passed away in her sleep, Legit.ng gathers.

A chairman of the board of directors of African Newspapers of Nigeria ( ANN), publishers of the Nigerian Tribune Tribune newspaper, Oyediran was married to Professor A. B. O. O. Oyediran, who is a former vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI).

Her death has created a huge vacuum in the dynasty of the late Nigerian lawyer, nationalist and politician, leaving Dr Olatokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu as the only surviving child of the late western region premier.
