Popular Nigerian author and critic, Reno Omokri have reacted to an apology issued by The Church of England for saying sex is only for married heterosexuals.
In January, a statement issued by the House of Bishops, led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, stated that sex is only for straight married couples while declaring that Christians in gay or straight civil partnerships should be sexually abstinent.
The Archbishops of Canterbury and York later apologized for the statement and said they acknowledge that the statement “jeopardized trust”.

But Reno felt the Church of England was right in their initial statement and had no reason to apologize.
He wrote in part: “How can a church apologize for saying sexual intercourse may only occur between heterosexual married couples?…”
