Popular Nigerian On-Air Personality, Tisan Bako was reportedly attacked a few days ago for supporting the LGBTQ community.

According to Kemi Filani News, Bako was attacked at an event; an album listening party over the weekend.

An eye witness claimed the vibrant OAP was attacked because he made some comments on his radio show signalling support for the LGBT people in Nigeria.

“It all started during his show. Tisan Bako had said LGBT people are not the reasons why the country has bad government, bad road, bad electricity and insecurity. Saying the government should focus on the right things.

“He made the comment during his radio show a couple of weeks ago when reviewing some of the events that happened in the previous years.  However, fans of the show weren’t happy and they called in to accuse him of supporting gay people.

“During the show, some callers even went as far as threatening him on air, including a police officer and some politicians who called to say he could be arrested for that comment.

“During the attack, his car was vandalized and some people were saying he should be arrested or beaten to death. If not for the timely intervention of security operatives who came in and calmed the whole situation, we probably would have been reporting a more tragic story,” the source added.
