A report by Aljazeera indicates that another COVID-19 vaccine being developed has proved to be effective against the global pandemic. The vaccine is being developed by Moderna, a US company.

The pharmaceutical company on Monday, November 16, announced that its experimental vaccine has shown to be 94.5 % effective from early results.

The manufacturer went on to explain that its first analysis was based on 95 cases of COVID-19 that included 15 adults aged 65 or over, and 20 participants from diverse communities.

gathers that early data of the vaccine released from the company showed the effectiveness of the experimental vaccine in a clinical trial with more than 30,000 participants.

Once it has more safety data, Moderna is expected to seek emergency use authorisation from the US Food and Drug Administration.

This news has been received with great joy and the daughter of President Donald Trump of the United States, Ivanka Trump, tweeted about it. According to her, her father partnered with Moderna to create it sometime in January.

Others have commended Morderna for the achievement while other criticised Trump.

Jonathan Reiner with the Twitter handle @JReinerMD wrote:

“When you hear the president take credit for the @moderna_tx success, remember that this vaccine was developed between Jan and March, while the president was calling covid a “hoax” and something that would just go away.”
This development is coming almost a week after Pfizer/BioNTech announced that its vaccine which is 90% effective against the novel virus is in sight.

An analysis of the vaccine shows a much better performance than most experts had hoped for. The company also said findings have shown that the vaccine does not have serious side-effects.
