Yesterday, Nigerians woke up to the sad news about the death of one of biggest Reggae Legends in Africa, Majek Fashek.
Majek Fashek born Makekodunmi Fasheke reportedly died in New York, on June 1, 2020.
Confirming the death of the music veteran is Uzoma Day Omenka, Fashek’s manager after, Joy Tongo, Cynthia Morgan’s former manager broke the news.
According to Uzoma, Fashek died 11:45pm Nigerian time on June 1 at a hospital in New York after receiving treatment in London. Majek Fashek died after battling Cancer for years and was in the company of his family who he had been separated.
Uzoma said: “We moved him from London to New York last September on the advice of the doctors that he should stay close to the family. Majek reunited with his family last year after 10 years of separation. He died in their company, ”
