Nizzy – Dreamin’ In Colours EP @nizzyofficial

Having been championed by the likes of BBC 1Xtra, MTV Base, The Beat London, and leading international tastemakers such as channel O and Soundcity Africa, as one of the finest artists to emerge from the burgeoning UK Afrobeats scene, and with over a million streams across YouTube and Soundcloud already under his belt, London-based Afrobeats musician Nizzy is proud to debut his long-awaited and highly anticipated debut EP titled Dreamin’ In Colour, as premiered on Red Bull UK.

Led by recently released fan-favourite singles ‘Scooby Doo’ featuring L.A.X, who is signed to Wizkid’s StarBoy record label, and ‘Mercy’ featuring longtime Mr. Eazi collaborator Eugy, Nizzy’s Dreamin’ In Colour EP is a glorious and eclectic body of work, that excellently merges African pop sounds, with a strong and distinct UK flavor, and Dancehall sensibilities, to deliver one of the most eclectic and captivating Afrobeats projects of the year.

From the smooth braggadocios opening track ‘Trumpet’ and dance floor filler ‘Se Be’, to the Dancehall-influenced ‘Gimme Dat’ featuring fellow UK Afrobeats rising star Mazi Chukz, who has recently been championed by the likes of Noisey, Red Bull Music andGRM Daily, to the absolute party starter ‘Kilonso’ and infectious ‘Mercy’, Nizzy takes listeners on a imaginative genre-fusing musical journey that’s just right for the summer and certainly befits the ‘Dreamin’ In Colour’ EP title.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the EP, Nizzy says, “‘Dreamin’ In Colour’ is a sound with a different vibe to what we’ve been used to. I tried to incorporate many different melodies and flavours into this record, as a reflection of the various lenses through which I view the world. Much of these songs were also inspired by the vibrant and diverse London nightlife. This melting pot of cultures has played a massive part in me being able to bring my Afrobeats music to the world”.
